we will take a taxi to San Ramon, a neighboring town, and walk to a community called El Trentino. During our three km walk we will collect certain seeds that fall from the trees. In this trip we will visit the Nativos Tours farm located in the area of Tejerina about 20 minutes from Matagalpa city. We will be camping in the tropical dry forest around a campfire where the guide will tell native legends. when we wake up at 3:00 am the next morning to participate in the cattle milking which is made up in a traditional manner. you will also learn how to command the cattle, about the traditional tools of agriculture, plowing and oxcart. price: $76 per 1person
We will take a private car from Matagalpa to Peñas Blancas Massif. This is the southern part of the Bosawas biosphere reserve and it is the largest forest in Central America. Here we will hike the trails of this amazing mountain and while we walk our tour guides will explain you about the flora and fauna that live in this cloud forest also we will see the flow of a big waterfall (approximately 100 meters). duration: 12 hours. This is a extreme running tour because the path is uphill and we can practice some yoga poses on the top of the mountain where we will have a nice viewpoint over Matagalpa city. After that we will eat some delicious chocolate in order to recover our energy because we will run down the rock path back into the city. We will start from the Nativos Tours mural and run until we reach a natural pool. This run is very hilly and there are parts of the path that are rocky, making the tour more extreme. If the pool is clean it is possible to jump from a rock in order to take a natural shower. We will run along the road until the Santa Teresita college, after which we will go to the top of the stairs of Linda Vista neighborhood where we will have a good view of the city. In this tour we will ride a horse on a farm called La Fuente near Matagalpa. We will follow the trails of the Tejerina Valley where you can enjoy the nature of the area.
